Philippe Halsman Celebrates Leonardo da Vinci

May 2, 2019 was the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death. His influence on art, invention, and ideas was unparalleled and his work has reverberated through the centuries. Philippe Halsman was one of the legions of artists that were inspired by his work and in the 1950s he paid two renowned tributes the Italian master: one, a glorious collaboration with Salvador Dali that remains iconic to this day; and the other, a playful holiday card that resonated far beyond his circle of friends and family.

CLAIRbyKahn takes this moment to salute the eternal genius of Leonardo da Vinci by sharing these two resplendent images from Philippe Halsman.
